The EXIN Group executive team has extensive experience in insurance and reinsurance, broader financial services and technology. Collectively, our key personnel have a strong track record in building businesses that add value for clients, investors and staff.


Matt is the founder of EXIN Group. He has a proven record in building insurance start-ups that deliver profitable, innovative products and services.

Matt established ANV Holdings BV in 2011. Over the next four years, he led the acquisition and revamp of three Lloyd's of London syndicates, building an insurance and reinsurance business with annual gross managed premiums of $1 billion. Prior to that, Matt co-founded MAG Global, a directors and officers (D&O) and financial lines specialist. He sold the business to HCC in 2003 and remained with HCC until 2011. Matt also founded and managed UAP Executive Partners, later renamed AXA Global Risk D&O. He began his insurance career as an underwriter at AIG.


Gonzalo is a key member of our capital raising and deployment team, with more than 30 years’ experience as an investment banker, asset manager and private equity specialist. Before joining EXIN, Gonzalo founded GSA Advisory and later sold the assets of the company to Hyposwiss, a Swiss private bank. In 2003, he started Guggenheim Partners Europe, later moving to Guggenheim Investments’ Latin American division to lead a team that added $1.7 billion in net new inflows over six years. From 1997 to 2000, Gonzalo was VP at Chase Manhattan Bank.


Nicolas leads EXIN's data, machine learning and statistical development. At BearingPoint, he ran the consultancy's HyperCube research and development centre, building and deploying big data software. Prior to that, he was co-founder of Effiscience, an early innovator in using algorithms to help businesses increase profit and reduce risk by predicting complex events. He also ran customer service operations at General Electric Healthcare across Europe.


Eugenio is our affinity marketing business expert, developing innovative ways to understand customer behavior and to meet their insurance needs using new technologies and smartphone marketing. He founded ANV Consumers at ANV Holdings before coming to EXIN. Eugenio worked at Aon Risk Solutions from 1993 to 2012, including four years as Managing Director of Aon's subsidiary, Combined Seguros, Mexico. He started his career as a risk management advisor for the Olympic Games of 1992 and 1996.


Sophia is a senior corporate lawyer providing legal coordination and functioning services in international transactions which cover several jurisdictions as well as legal advice and support. She is enthusiastic and has a proactive approach to problem solving, always facilitating collaboration amongst teams within organizations.


Adam has spent 30 years in private practice as a barrister, solicitor and US attorney. Most recently, he worked at ANV as Deputy Chairman and Claims Director, and was a board member of the Lloyd's of London Managing Agency and Chairman of the MGU business. He previously worked at HCC Global as UK General and Underwriting Counsel, then with Ryan Specialty Europe Limited. He practiced in New York for 11 years before managing the London office of Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold.


Arne’s most recent employer was Lloyds Banking Group, at which he established BI units in the Netherlands and Germany. He was promoted to the role of Head of Europe Systems in early 2015, leading a team of 60 IT professionals in Germany, the Netherlands and the UK. Arne oversaw the launch of new banking products and was responsible for the significant migrations from the legacy core savings and loan system, to a cost-effective, modern platform.


Lars is a branding and communications expert. He has been a creative content director, producer of several short films, TV segments and a documentary, Spitting Ink, shown at the Dutch Film Festival. He was Creative Marketing Director at ANV for five years, interpreting the brand vision and objectives into clear, concise and effective internal and external communications.


Mariska is at the nexus of execution for EXIN. A competitive chess champion at a young age, she brings singular focus, dogma and persistence to her work. While ensuring the leaders of the business coalesce around EXIN’s vision she ensures fulfillment by turning our strategy into action. Besides the strategic prowess and team spirit any European hockey champion possesses, Mariska has been raised in a family business of long-term asset management and is thus well placed to understand the fungible results that come from consistent lifelong performance.


Jacopa has a proven track record in achieving business process improvements in Financial Services for the past 15 years. She is a versatile and self-starter motivated professional who has accomplished delivering shared services for companies operating world-wide as well as understanding business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements, recommending solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals. Jacopa is a true people’s person with uncompromising integrity who has applied her expertise in different countries, cultures and environments.


Having started in the insurance industry 15 years ago, Charlotte has gained a broad range of experience in broking, claims and underwriting. She has worked closely with a range of international insurers to develop their insurance risk understanding and helped develop policy wordings for PI, D&O and IPO risks in the UK, European and Asian markets. She has experience within a wide range of industries and professions from small UK solicitor firms to some of the largest Chinese companies. With excellent product development and risk analysis skills and a deep understanding of the PI, D&O and FI claims environment in a multitude of jurisdictions, she is able to use her legal background to manage the EXIN Group Claims team.


Ferdinand has over 13 years experience in IT, human resources, process outsourcing and human capital management. He has held roles in Dublin, Bangalore and Barcelona. His previous roles include Director of global HR shared services for Air Products and Chemicals.

Ferdinand also worked at human capital management solutions provider, ADP LLC. He led the roll out of the introduction of PeopleSoft software for General Motors in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.


George has overseen company accounts, auditing, compliance and financial performance at well-known companies including Reynolds Group, formerly part of ALCOA, and wind turbine manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems in Denmark. In the US, he oversaw external reporting at Lincoln Electric, the listed welding equipment manufacturer. He also developed and ran investments in telecoms, technology and financial services for Caixa Network, a former venture capital arm of La Caixa, one of Europe’s largest banks.
